I Don't Know What To Do Anymore

Ehhh started this a little while ago during a gloomy day and decided to finish it!

Yes, it's from Prisoners... dang this movie, man... T_T
lol

This is just something I wanted to express; I was browsing through Tumblr and came across this GIF-type... thing... that had Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) and Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) doing this kind of... face-palm gesture...
and what struck me, or... should I say, RE-struck me
Is just how SIMILAR these characters are!


I mean, they both work better by themselves, they're both knowledgeable, they both have an ethical code they try to follow (sometimes falling short of it), they both are so used to being in control and have a central theme of losing that control...
Most of all, they both want the same thing; they want to find these girls, safe and sound...
Keller's perspective is much more personal, but that doesn't mean Loki doesn't understand; if anything, he's almost envious of what Keller has...

And, while it happens at different times in different ways, they BOTH end up reaching a point where their best wasn't enough.
They've done everything they could and just... hit a wall...
They don't know where the girls are or even if they're alive... evidence is mounting up that they aren't, and... they both feel that they failed...
_{Sorry for that downer thought, but it's just SO FASCINATING; because really, when these characters are together, they cannot STAND each other... and yet, the similarities are just insane}


So yeah, art wise, this was fun to make!
I was going for kind of a... blurred/melded together kinda look...
Dunno if I got it, but, whatever

I am VERY happy with how the shading on their hair and especially Loki's hand came out.
Drawing it always takes longest; for me, the real fun comes in shading and colouring; I just end up losing it on my tablet

This movie doesn't have a lot of music in it; it's primarily atmospheric silence... but when there IS music, it's always that cello sound and... it pulls at your heart-strings every time At least, for ME it does
