Uhhhh...

Lemme explain:

This is an idea I've had for quite a while now; since I admitted I don't hate Futurama The Beast With A Billion Backs, I sorta had my own thoughts and ideas that could have been taken advantage of... Heheheheh... leave it to me to suck the comedy outta something and turn it waay more serious than it needs to be.

Now, when Fry first emerged from the Tentacle, he was clearly brainwashed _{(the movies can deny it all it wants, but there is NO WAY Fry could have gone fish-eyed like that without being brainwashed! lol)} And I understand the city was under attack and people were put in danger... but for CRYING OUT LOUD!
Leela could've shown a LITTLE bit more restraint! How many guns did she have pointed at his head?? WHAT THE HECK??

I have my theories as to why they took thise route: maybe the whole having-to-shoot-Old-Yeller-even-though-I-don't-want-to cliché was tired and over used; so they thought it'd be funny to do the exact opposite, all for the reasons of self preservation...
To some people, that worked
but, for people like me, it did not... it just came across as needlessly mean spirited... Oh, well

So, call me old fashioned, but that kind of cliché is one I NEVER get tired of
